Zen Under Ten is dedicated to teaching children, teens and the adults who care for them, the social and emotional skills we all need to thrive in today’s demanding academic and social settings. Our classes pull together the best of yoga, mindfulness, positive psychology and contemporary philosophy to explore how to quiet the mind, bring increased focus to our daily activities, and cultivate happiness and self-esteem.

Classes for young children invite them to play and engage in fun, simple mindfulness activities that help them learn how to “pay attention” and develop compassion for themselves and others.

Our classes offered to older children and teens add to these activities with practices designed to enhance self-awareness and self-esteem. Participants will leave our classes with a set of tools that encourage positivity and resiliency, as well as specific techniques to help manage the social and academic pressures of the middle and upper school years, including homework and test-taking stress reduction strategies.

Parents and teachers can attend programs focused on cultivating their own mindfulness practices, while at the same time learning how to support and encourage the social and emotional development of the children they care for.
